Tim Bennett Album Update

Additional Info

Tim Bennett provides us with the latest news as he regularly did over the last few months. Now that he released his new album "Miseducated" he reports about what has happened lately: Happy 2011 ! Thanks to you, the supporters and fans of independent and fan funded music, the seeds of 2010 are already beginning to sprout. Once again we start the New Year being included on the play-list for College radio in the USA. Thanks to Dave and the crew at 'College Underground Music' for putting two of my songs on the radio for their New Year's Eve Party. Many DJ's are now joining the buzz and starting to play the songs on the radio, both terrestrial and on-line. We hope to include some top pluggers later this year to really give the songs a push. Also GoDIY Records has just released a compilation CD with artists from the UK. This promo CD will be sent to radio and other media in the U.S.A and I am honoured to have 'Black Rain' included on the CD at the number two spot! Thanks, to Tim and Mike and the team at GoDIY for being so supportive. The biggest news for many of you, however, is that the 'Miseducated' album is now fresh off the press and the Believers should be receiving their LECD's in the post anytime soon. The album will be available to buy on-line very soon. I am thrilled with both the music and the artwork and am very excited to see how far we can take this journey. I'm deeply grateful to everyone who has helped make this dream a reality. This month the 'Anybody' music video crossed the 3,000 youtube views barrier and continues to keep rising. It's had some wonderful feedback from fans and industry alike and I am sincerely indebted to all all of you who have watched it and spread the word amongst your friends and colleagues. We've also just released the brand new music video for "UnAmerican" featuring Bambi Monroe as the nerdy but beautiful bank teller who has big big dreams, so let's see if this can follow along the same trajectory and perhaps overtake the 'Anybody' video in popularity. Big thanks to Duncan Haynes, my keyboardist, who doubled as the 'Evil Villain' and 'Guitar Hero' in the plot and a huge thanks to Executive Producer, Christian Schuett, for once again being so encouraging and supportive. I took the decision to self-direct the video in November when I proposed the idea to Mr Schuett. I feel confident that I've made some strong steps forward with my directorial ability since the 'Anybody' project, although this video was a lot more ambitious and took longer to shoot and was again filmed on my Canon EOS Rebel. Using an SLR camera can be quite restrictive in some respects, but it also forces me to be more creative. I hope that I can keep learning from my mistakes and improve in the art form. It's been a fantastic journey so far and I'm thoroughly enjoying the role. The editing took about a month, partly because I'm new to the field and also because I used iMovie 6 on my laptop. It's an old software and takes considerably more time than if I'd used some of the newer software available these days. However, my budget is limited and I'm learning that the artist must use and make the best of what's at hand. I will be looking to bring new people to the team for the next video so that I can focus more on the music-performance side of things. I am currently scripting this next project and will keep you updated as it develops. The UnAmerican Video is available at Youtube. Another bit of news is that I was recently invited to co-host a radio show with Taylor Horn (aka Bambi Monroe ) on New Artist Radio in the U.S.A. It's called ' The Tim and Taylor Show' and we've combined British and American humour plus some cool indie music. I've been surprised by how popular the show is and we've been receiving some very welcome accolades from other DJ's and radio stations and there may be some exciting things in the pipeline, so stay tuned ( literally ) for more updates on this.
